Community Herbal Access Project - Animas Botanicals

Plants • People • Place

The Community Herbal Access Project is a developing initiative rooted in two simple beliefs:

Healing people and healing the planet happen together.

Everyone deserves access to the benefits of plants.

For thousands of years, humans lived in close relationship with plants. Long before modern medicine, people relied on herbs, teas, tonics, tinctures, and nutrient-dense plants to support health, resilience, and wellbeing.

These plants are more than remedies for specific ailments.

They contain phytochemicals and compounds that humans have interacted with throughout our evolutionary history. They provide tools that help our bodies do what they were designed to do: adapt, nourish, repair, restore, and thrive.

Yet many people lack access to herbal wellness, plant education, and the knowledge needed to incorporate these plants into everyday life.

Our Vision

We are working to expand access to botanical wellness through:

🌿 Donated herbal products for individuals and communities experiencing barriers to access

🌿 Community partnerships with organizations serving people in need

🌿 Herbal education that empowers individuals and families to grow, harvest, and create their own plant-based wellness products

We believe that knowledge is as important as products. Our goal is not simply to provide herbal remedies, but to help people build lasting relationships with plants.

Healing People and the Planet Together

Our work begins in the garden.

At our farm, we cultivate herbs using practices that increase biodiversity, support pollinators, improve soil health, and create habitat for countless forms of life.

We believe humans can be a keystone species—not by taking from the land, but by participating in its regeneration.

Every garden has the potential to become a sanctuary for both people and wildlife.

As we grow plants that support human health, we also create ecosystems that support the health of the earth.

For us, these goals are inseparable.

Healthy people and healthy ecosystems depend on one another.

Building Access

The Community Herbal Access Project will grow in stages.

Stage One: Building the Foundation

Our first goal is developing the infrastructure needed to expand access, including transportation and mobile outreach capabilities.

Stage Two: Community Partnerships

We aim to partner with organizations that serve individuals and communities who may benefit from additional support, including shelters, educators, caregivers, hospice organizations, community wellness initiatives, and rural communities.

Stage Three: Herbal Access Programs

As the project grows, we envision providing donated herbal products, sponsored wellness initiatives, and educational opportunities that help make botanical wellness more accessible.

Stage Four: Education and Empowerment

Expand opportunities for people to learn how to grow herbs, create their own teas and tinctures, and build greater self-reliance through plant knowledge.

Toward a Zero-Waste Future

This project also supports our commitment to becoming a truly zero-waste botanical business.

By creating pathways to donate products, utilize surplus harvests, share educational resources, and connect plants with people who can benefit from them, we can ensure that more of what is grown is used with purpose.

Every plant has value.

Every harvest has the potential to nourish.
